  • I thought about this one...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1949-...QQcmdZViewItem

Thought about bidding the opener... obviously way beyond gone, but I thought for parts... but even at the opening bid, that's a deuce, plus a hundred or so for gas (4 hrs. away); then I'd have to drag out the trailer, which hasn't been on the road in like 3 years...

So I decided to pass... right? I mean, is it worth at least $350 or so for parts? I only thought about it for 2 reasons: 1. In case I get into one in the future and need parts (who knows?) and 2. To save it from the crusher...

What do you think? If it ends without a bid I thought about offering $100...

After all, it was cherry, AND ran great at one time........

I think if you bought it you would have to organize a body work and engine work seminar at the next meet!

                Bob,

I suspect you might be better off with this one and it is about the same distance. Opening bid of $400 but a bunch of extra parts. The rear floors look good, it appears someone has covered the fronts with sheet metal. By the way, the owner has it mislabeled.

I saw the 49 sitting beside a Chicken Barn 20 yrs ago & it wasn't half-bad but not worth the $4000. he wanted at the time.Time & neglect has turned it into a $100. tops parts car.In Canada if the scrap-yards have to come & get it they will give you nothing inless it is a late model. If he took it to them maybe $50.-75.
