Check out the twin traction decal over the ignition switch on the 58 Commander on ebay.

The only TT decal I've seen is the one that goes on the rear talking about TT fluid.

    [u]BINGO!</u>

John: Cousin George Krem's 1958 Golden Hawk that came out of Asa Hall's Estate in 2005 has an identical sticker above the ignition switch. I noticed it immediately when I went to Connecticut to pick up the car for him last October.

In our phone conversation, he and I commented that we had never seen one, either. The one on his Golden Hawk isn't in quite as good of condition as this one, but it is the same sticker.

They must have fallen off easily and few survive, but it was surely a factory-installed label on cars so equipped. [^]

Now, has anyone seen one on anything other than a 1958 model? BP

Looks like a great item to repro even though 58 owners may not know they need it.

I asked Mike Williams at Packard hawk.com a while ago about the TT stucker on the Pkrd Hawks. I beleive he has one on his 58 Pkrd Hawk also. It was above the ignition. Mine is missing. If anyone could make/get them reproduced I'd get one. Any chance Bondobilly could duplicate it ?

Yeah, well now that the cat's out of the bag, just wait 'til they start judging '58s in South Bend next Thursday! [}]

(Chassis Judge notes a TT tag under one differential cover bolt and Exterior Judge notes a TT emblem on the rear of the car...but NO Twin Traction sticker above the ignition switch! [:0] UH-OH! )

Well if one car has it, the others are screwed since there is no one making them yet. Bondo ??

I have something to add. This DOESindeed go farther then just 1958...

Above is a shot of the dash in my brother's '57 Commander Custom sedan. It's basically a 4 door version of my Champion. I hope Mike doesn't hurt me for this, but he's on the road to South Bend right now...

Care to splain that fancy ignition switch on top of the steering column?

I'd bet it was 57-58 only. Anyone seen it later ?

I tried looking in the body parts book under dashboard, it's not there. But that doesn't mean it's not listed *somewhere* - the parts book organization does not always make sense.

I have not seen this car in person yet. As such I have no idea what the story is, or even if that's what that switch is for!!! Mike may know though...

Is it adhesive backed metal or a vinyl piece? Is it dye cut? If so maybe I can have a shot at it.
