    I got what was left of the bushings out of the A-arms today in preparation for dropping them off at the sandblaster's. Check this out:


    This is the driver's side upper pin rear bushing. The rubber went away a long time ago and the bushing's inner sleeve was riding on the outer shell. It was wearing its way through...


    Passenger's side was worse. There was no rubber at all, and the sleeve had worn away most of the outer shell. It came out with about two taps of the chisel.


    The sleeve on that one had rusted to the pin. I got it off with some PB Blaster and Vice-Grips. Pretty nasty (sorry for the blurry pic).

    Obviously this car's suspension had never been touched in 43 years! The tie rod ball joints were so loose I could move them freely with my little finger [:0]

    I love fixing things. My wife doesn't understand this
