  • Another crusher bound 53

I bought this 53 back in April. It was borderline saving then and a few days after I got it home, a tornado hit and blew a big oak over the quarters and top. That sent it over the edge. So, today was an unusually beautiful day here (74 and sunny). So I took off work and my Grandson and I started stripping. Here's a few shots.

As you could see it is a champion, but it has a 51-52 V/8

It had a really nice steering wheel.

There is definately a line where saving is just not worth it.
I love that carb. What is the model on those L shaped carbs? I am pretty sure they are Strombergs, but I am curious what model?
I have a WW on my 289 and a UVB26AA on my 232, but I love the look of those.
    Do they perform well?

They are indeed Strombergs; either AAUVB-26 or WWUVL-26.

Dick, what mufflers did you run on that car?

I'm trying to figure out what mufflers to run with my Silvertone duals on the Wagon.

Dick, I always assumed that car was a trailer queen only,as I've only seen pics of it in shows, guess I was wrong.
              Sounds good.

Even a queen needs someone to ride her; otherwise, there would be no line of succession.

Plenty of good and desirable parts on that '53 Starliner, Tex. It's a shame a tree fell on it, but the parts that are left will make some other C/K owners very happy (and put some money in your pocket to boot).
