Here's a question that popped into my always fertile (or fertilized!) mind:

The marquee on the theater says 'First Run Features'. The date on the two movies is 1945 and 1946 respectively. Does not that Stude have to be at least a '47? If so, how can those movies be 'first run'? And that doesn't even answer how two 'first runs' at the same time can be from different years (unless 'The Wicked Lady' opened at the tail end of December of '45 and crossed into January '46, thereby overlapping).

So what's the answer to the mystery? Do I misunderstand what 'first run' means? Or am I missing something else?

Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd in LA is still there, as are a number of the other buildings.

It sure is, along with the El Rey accross the street. The whole Hollywood and Highland plaza is newer and the Kodak theater {not sure what they are calling it now} was all built 12 years ago or so. We built that center.
