I remember an early street scene that did have a '55 Conestoga wagon in it. My grandparents lived near Scappoose, Oregon, not far from Vernonia. In 1961, this was a big happening in the local area.
Yeah I agree-it looks to be a shot while the actors are between takes? If I remember it was a good movie for car spotting.

                  • From the Thursday, October 6 Hemmings Daily Blog:

We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

                    G. K. Chesterton: This triangle of truisms, of father, mother, and child, cannot be destroyed; it can only destroy those civilizations which disregard it.

                      • The black & white photo in 6753 is of the only Studebaker that Trautwein's ever built. They were located about a half mile south of my friend's father's dealership, Kovac Motors, in Woodbridge N.J.

Kovac Motors was torn down around 1973 but I wonder if Trautwein's is still there. It's been 8 years since I was even in N.J. last.

                            • Nice to see that although they favored Fords, they weren't stuck on them.
