  • GT Hawks Made In Canada?

Does anyone know if any GTs were made in Canada?
    Thanks,
    Joe

Sure quite a few, those are the ones that "could" have a 6 Cyl. Engine, the '62's have chromed side grille housings and other "Different in Canada" little clues like a Studebaker of Canada LTD. Serial Number plate.

The GT Hawk registry lists cars with two different serial number prefixes such as 62VXXXX and 62VCXXXX and 63V----- and 63VC-----, with the VC often associated with Canadian owners. http://www.studebakergthawkregistry.ca/

They were assembled in Hamilton in 1962 & 1963 and none for 1964. The figure for 1963 was 360; with the rarest being approximately 20 R2 G.T. Hawks being assembled there. (More on those in this thread: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...ghlight=maroon) Their engine prefix is 'JTSC'.

I just learned something today. I never thought the GT Hawks were built in Canada. New information for my memory bank.
