Most of you know of my search for a T86 trans. for Molly. Well, here's the plan:

Gord suggested rebuilding it in the parking lot at the Meet... sounded crazy, but a possibility.

Any suggestions (positive, of course!) would be appreciated[^] Let's make this work!
Just so it doesn't drag into a long evening, ensure we have ALL the necessary supplies on hand, including the obvious, like rags, varsol, and fresh, new gear oil, etc. Maybe even a couple of rattlecans of black Tremclad for that 'finishing touch'. There's nothing worse than being held up because someone has to run to the parts store for something that was easily overlooked![]

I can think of a few different things that'd be worse- like driving off a cliff, for example

You're right, though; so we do have a few folks bringing parts and parts units; and we're repeatedly reviewing the basics...

I have 2 T86-E transmissions here that have been laying outside,I could bring one if parts are needed, they both turn. I could probably open the most promising one up and see what it looks like inside.

It's like Mama vs. the cooks on TV. Ever notice how they NEVER seem to run out of anything??

Would it make sense to make copies of the pages from the shop manual so folks can follow along? Let me look tonight when i get home to see if I have a manual that will cover it. If not, I can sell food, drinks and chairs at ringside.....

Good idea, Gary; probably copies of at least the exploded view of the trans. would be good for the those who are interested. I'll have to look into that...

BTW- If you're going to sell refreshments ringside, I'll take a swordfish steak sandwich and a pint of Screaming Wench beer...

Beer AFTER the trans is back together ... or it might be a "no speed"
