Whoa! We're talking about some serious verbiage here; I had to go look that one up:
cognoscente (sigular): a connoisseur.
(Actually, I had sounded it out COG-NO-SCENT-EE and imagined it to be a medical malady where you had such a bad cold that when you changed your differential fluid, you were unable to smell the strong sulphur odor in gear oil! Ah, the hazards of being a gear head.) <GGG> BP
