What is the differences between a 52 Commander Regal and a deluxe model ?
I noticed in NADA values there is a substancial difference

I'm not sure of all the differences, but the Regal had more chrome, i.e. headlight rims, than the Deluxe. The interiors on the Regal are much nicer. Perhaps someone who owns a '52 can elaborate.

Both the deluxe and the regal have chrome headlite rims . There has to be some major differences to make the value so different I think.

The book 'Studebaker cars" by James Moloney says that the regal had more deluxe appointments than the Deluxe in addition to the stainless rocker moldings but does not elaborate further. My own 52 is a Hardtop State so different all together.

Fred Fox probably covered this in one of his awesome articles in Turning Wheels.

About all that is left to upgrade without going to the level of a "State" model would be the slightly better quality of seat and door panel material, the addition of stainless windshield, door window and backlight trim, Deluxe steering wheel and horn ring etc.

Thanks , I'll check out that TWs you mentioned.

...found it and I'd forgot about this issue....my 52 Champion that I sold 10 years ago is on page 12.....oh I wish I never sold that car.
