One of my favorite events of the year. Had to pull a lot of strings, but I'll be there.

Since I won't be at the Pure Stock Drags, the Tri-State will make a nice alternative. See you all Saturday as long as I won't be kicked out for driving a Ford.

We hit the road this morning after some unforseen difficulties. Stopped by the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer then over to Mooresville for the night. Let's just say that it was a beautiful day, but we do have a nomination for the Hard Luck Award. Should be at Lake Junaluska tomorrow afternoon after stopping in to see the Beam Truck Museum in Cherryville, some barbecue in Forest City and a drive through the byways of U.S. 74 Alternate and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Yes, this is a completely non-interstate affair and we are loving it.

Sorry I am going to have to miss the meet. I have attended the Tri-State meet since the 1970's and have missed very few. However, this little kidney stone episode has involved two trips to the emergency room, several agonizing days at home, several agonizing days in the hospital, two surgeries, and is not over yet. I made it back home yesterday. I have travel restrictions.

Oh...and I get a "bonus" visit back to the doctor on Monday so that they can have the joy of jerking out this little device that they left in the tube that goes from my right kidney to the bladder. I hope you all have a wonderful meet. Please take the time to post some pictures. I wish I could be in them.

John, I was hoping to talk with you again but focus on getting well and I'll see you at the next one.

Got the F150 washed and fueled up and ready for the treck to the mountains at the crack of dawn. Since my truck is a shade close to Avanti Turquoise, just put me in the same class as those Plastic Larks.

We arrived this afternoon around 4:00. Had a great visit to the C. Beam Truck museum and a great drive through the mountains. Tomorrow is the big day at Lake Junaluska and we are all looking foreward to having a good time.
