Consider keeping the vents. Those really say "Studebaker" as most cars did not have them in the 50's.
When you remove the bumper guard and the pieces on the ends of the bumpers for chroming, see how it looks without them.

That's what I did with mine. If you look at the car without the front clip, you can see that the entire vent infrastructure is gone with the reconfiguration of the firewall. With the fenders on, it looks stock. The vent doors are simply bolted in the closed position.
