Twice that many had a hand in keeping it on the road in some way or another.

      That's something special!!!

This Forum has been a lifesaver for many folks over the years, and Molly is one very well documented example. There are no hard feelings at this end- I'm sure that if the same situation came up again- it would happen the same way it did then. We're all in this StudeHobby together.
Well said. I am still amazed at the help and generosity shown to me, mostly a stranger, by honest, quality folks who went WAY out of their way to get the old girl on the road. And, I got to meet the Gahlbecks, Gord, Doc, Tom, Phil, Gary Hearn, and so many others face to face for the first time. All great Stude folks (even ol' Biggsy!) who extended themselves to accept a newbie into the SDC. That, more than anything, cemented my love for Studebakers and the club. I owe you all!

Roy, do you have a phone number for Randy? The number in my 06 roster is not working.

He is looking for a 59-60 Lark Wagon to restore/restomod, rod, or whatever you like to call it. Just putting a call out to see what might be available, would like it to be within a days drive of south central Pa. I can't sell him the wife's 59, unless I want to find myself looking for a new address!

My young friend settled for a 61 Lark Wagon. Just have to get it from Calif. to Pa. Anyone coming to Hershey or Carlisle, or know of someone who is with an open spot on their trailer?

Fellow in Chandler, AZ named Rick has several wagon shells that I'm sure someone wanting a serious project could own. As I recall from when I picked up my Speedster project car they were perhaps '54 to '56 in vintage. I didn't look them over as much as was surprised to see several in the same bone yard.

That's a nice solid car. I would have bid but the $1300 shipping cost turned me away.

I might have sent you the link but you had said within a days drive of Sourh central PA.

Given the fact that it may be a solid west coast car, that alone is well worth the freight . Even to a professional body man who co-owns a shop that does outstanding work, RUST is RUST!!! So, starting with this car is a very wise move.
                        Thanks Bob.

So very true yet quite a few folks still don't quite grasp the concept of buying an essentially rustfree vehicle for $1,000 more (factoring in the shipping costs admittedly) which is still cheaper in the long run than starting with a severely rusted out local one. Note: I underlined the word 'severely'

True, but I meant that since I wasn't in the market for one it wasn't worth spending the shipping. If it was within driving distance, I definitely would have bid just to save it.

I have had good luck buying rust-free cars in the Northeast. There are cars that were not driven in winter, but also a lot of transplants that somebody already shipped and gave up on. My CO Daytona body was in MI, CO 57 Provincial was an hour away from me, and I have another 62 Daytona in the garage that spent it's life in MA and PA but no winters- all rock solid but nearby.

Of course, if one is on a schedule, the WC is a good option as well.

Well, this old girl arrived last night in East Earl Pa. after a little over a 10 day trip from Bob P's place in Casto Valley Ca. And shipping was under a grand!!!!! It is just what the Doctor ordered, and we have some new blood in the Stude World! Luke is is his name, and he is one heck of a body & paint man!!!!! Can't wait to see him work his majic on this one. Yes, it will be modified, (sorry you originality boys), but it is better than cutting it up or letting it rot into the ground.
Anyone interested in the 259 3spd od drivetrain? Can be delivered to Reedsville.
THANK YOU BOB PETERSON FOR YOR HELP!!!!!!!
