  • E-Bay Avanti 2

Has anyone here inspected this Avanti ll up close? I know there was work done on the troughs but I have not been able to determine if these repairs were done acceptably or just cobbled together. thanks for any info, Steve

This Avanti II should have a 400, not a "350".
I would figure in redoing the torque boxes in your bid. If what is there is good, you are that much ahead.

Can't help you on your question re the hog troughs, but I have two other comments.
      1. I believe all 74 Avantis came with a 400, not a 350. So either the owner doesn't know what it has or the engine has been replaced.
      2. 1974 was the last year for the Avanti 4-speed until Steve Blake bought the company in 1983. I have one also (RQB2127) and it allegedly was the last one built with the 4-speed.
