I just clicked on the link and see the five vehicles now added. None of them are Studebakers. Maybe you are referring to the original list. I did not go to that.
Now I see that they are in the "threatened list", not the "endangered list" (as you state).

No they are in the endangered list. Scroll down and look in the grey box to the right there are only 2 cars in the threatened section 15 in the endangered section the studs is 2 or 3 down.

Gary, you need better reading glasses!

        • 1971-1974 Mazda RX-2

Endangered: Hagerty insures fewer than 15

        • 1981-1985 Chevrolet Citation X-11
        1963-1966 Studebaker Wagonaire
        • 1979-1981 Toyota Supra
        • 1974-1981 Volkswagen Dasher

        • 1979-1980 Plymouth Fire Arrow
        • 1974 Oldsmobile Toronado

        Extinct: Hagerty insures no examples

        • 1983-1986 Isuzu Impulse
        • 1986-1987 Renault/AMC GTA
        • 1978-1980 Oldsmobile Starfire Firenza
        • 1984 Plymouth Voyager (Dodge Caravan)

This is straight from the link that John provided. By the way, does anyone remember my proposal from 2008 (a year and a half before Hagerty developed their list!) for an "Endangered Studes list"?

If anybody wants to save one, I have a 63 Wagonaire with new paint - body perfect, all interior pieces there, needs assembly. It's complete, just a kit. 289 auto, even has an electric rear window with a good motor. Has Turner discs on the front. $2K as is, if I make it drive onto a trailer $2500

I guess that makes my '66 worth more?

I clicked on a link in a box on the left and on that list it was shown as threatened. I guess that there are multiple lists referenced on that same site/link.

Add my '80 Toyota Supra to the list of cars I should have kept. '60 Corvair and '70 Firebird are the others. Oh, that 20-20 hindsight!

Hagerty has been trying to get into the Canadian Antique and Collector Car insurance business. I insure instead with Silver Wheels, which is, in my opinion, a much better and much less restrictive plan.

Having looked at both types of policies, I'd rather pay just a few more dollars a year. I doubt that I would ever choose to insure with Hagerty unless there was no alternative. And yes, I have a 63 Wagonaire....

If they would like to insure more Wagonaires, all they need to do is cut the rates in half for those particular models.

How accurate is this list? Seems to just be a list of Hagerty Insured Vehicles. I can't imagine the vehicles listed in the "extinct" list have all vanished from the face of the Earth.

This is just Hagerty insurance there are many more insurance companies, I've had State Farm for 30 + years.

Yup. There are more Wagonaires on the Registry than Hagerty has insured.
Also - I've been with State Farm since high school (Class of '74), and never had a reason to change.
The policy on my Wagonaire is less than $110 per year - not bad.
