    i remember going up hwy 99 (way before I-5 was built) back in my yout' from l.a. county... beautiful!!!

      Richard, that is not 99, 99 now is much like I-5 fast and full of car and trucks.

        i'm not richard, and i was just remembering another time...

        guess i need to change that signature line - i was just giving credit to a photo that mr. quinn took in 1981 of the vehicle i have now...

          I don't know wter those photos were taken, but there actually are sections of old 99 that are still extant. At least, one side of the road. Now, the old road is just a frontage road to the new highway. One can see the defunct restraurants and motels mouldering away behind the fence. Kind of like some sections of Route 66.

          Those pictures were beautiful, Annie. Were those Peach blossoms? Did I spy a Kaiser/Fraiser in that line-up? Thanks for sharing again. Wish I could have been along for the ride instead of under Bess cussing at this throw-out bearing and cleaning the yard.
