  • Turning Wheels - February, 2011

    Excellent issue.
    Photography is stunning.
Inside back cover of the Swedish 2010 Summer meet mini parade is great.
And young Matthew's article about Sue Loveridge is superb.
I love it when the personal history is saved, recorded, and shared.
Chris Eastburn's contribution to Brian Curtis's Custom and Modified section is great.
Superb photography. (Didn't see one power pole, or tree).
And BP's article about Certified Stock is a must read, with great pic's...
Made my lunch hour, and then some!

Thanks, Jeff; 'glad you enjoyed it.

Anyone attending the 2011 International Meet in Phoenix/Glendale can't help but rememeber Sue's drop-dead gorgeous, soft yellow 1951 Commander State Convertible. And the story behind that car is so touching, as you say and as I am sure Matthew reports ('haven't seen the issue yet except having signed off the proof pages of my contributions).

It's my understanding Sue's Commander will be featured in an upcoming edition of Hemmings something. I believe Hemmings writer Jeff Koch was on location in Phoenix/Glendale and prepared the story for their publications.

Of course, you read it first in Turning Wheels! <GGG> BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

"You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality."

    G. K. Chesterton: This triangle of truisms, of father, mother, and child, cannot be destroyed; it can only destroy those civilizations which disregard it.

I guess that we here in Aus will just have to wait to read that issue. I just received my Dec copy yesterday. Still no Nov. or Jan. yet! I hope that the mailing problem is sorted soon.

        You're mean. I don't think we've got January yet.

It might be faster to have your Australian copies sent here and I'll post them straight off this year. We'll see which method is the cheapest and quickest. That's a long, tough wait. Sorry.

Hmmm.... I wonder if copies headed for the north side of the 49th parallel have even reached Canada Post yet. (Just sayin')

AS always a wonderfull issue. I really liked the inside cover photo. It gives me motivation to "get back to work" on my own Lark project.

You betcha Bob... Teasin' the current issue, because it is that good...

And to anyone who has vendor issues, you need to read the first entry in the Mail section.
I know Frank Ambrogio, and for him to step up and try to return anything is a big deal.
This mail entry shows what great vendor people we still have out there.
(Frank was the second Stude guy (after Stephen Cade) that I met when I moved to Florida. Bought a V8 block from him...still have it)
                      Good on you guys!

Doubt it. I just got my January issue a week ago.

Good news. My Jan TWs arrived here today via Deutsche Post Priority. Perhaps they are the key in a more normal delivery?
