Well, he does say 25-30, and if you are really gentle with an overdrive, with that raw egg taped to the bottom of your foot, a new carb, and electronic ignition, well inflated radial tires on level ground, the bottom end figure is attainable....but why not just have a flathead six if you want to drive like that? I am pretty sure that J D Poulos has never gone out specifically with any V8 Studebaker to see if he can better the results of the Mobilgas Economy runs. <g> I also bet he is confusing the 'underseat heaters' with some sort of 1950s style heated seats of the Rube Goldberg variations. Or, since the owner kept "upgrading" the car, maybe it does have heater inserts installed in the seats under the vinyl. Still, even with the "Edelbrock" warning sticker on the shroud, it is a pleasant little car.

Could be worse--could be a 65 4 dr sedan that some relative thinks is worth $20,000 now, and will be worth $40,000 in a few years, just because the car was repainted 15 years ago, and it has its original engine. <ggg>
