  • Touring Whatcom County

Spent the morning with Brian Curtis (chocklateturkey) touring western Whatcom County in the Hawk this morning. The high point was meeting Brian's friend Gene Eaton. Gene has a nifty collection of Studes including some great trucks.

Here's the latest addition to his collection...

This thing could pull a plow [:0].

Also some beautiful M trucks. Here's a dump truck ALMOST ready to go back to work...

Here's a rather rare M16. Early (41-42)...note the lack of fender spacers, no hood ornament, chromed bumper. Also it is a short (128") wheelbase. I've not seen one in person before.

How about this 2R school bus?

    Neat wrap around windshield.

We headed out to Birch Bay. That's the Georgia Straits in the background. You can see the Hawk's home (Canada) for the last 42 years across the water.

    We had a great morning.

BTW, Brian took all these pictures. He is an EXCELLENT photographer [^]

    Neat trucks!

Quit showing so many pics of that GT. I've already went through too many drool-damaged key boards from pics of your other Studes.

Great pictures, Dick. I especially like the one of your Hawk by the water. The school bus is neat, too, but it might be hard to find the left side wrap around window if it was to be restored. Since I am not a truck guy, I am not sure what the fender spacers are.

The trucks sort of remind me of some I saw alongside of the road in Montana on my trip to the Spokane Meet.

I've got pretty good eyes, but I'll be danged if I can see George Strait in that picture.

It's that body of water across from the Isle of Lucy.

It's where Porter Wagonaire comes from.
