Original body type was C5--see here:
However, in the process of eliminating a good deal of the trim, like the stainless window surrounds, the windshield piece that covers the A pillar, if used as is, results in both a goofy looking car and a very bad transition from cowl to door--gaps would be very large. I'd like to use the Deluxe trim on the finished product.

Well there is a total of eight pieces. The good news is they are all made of stainless and shouldn't be too hard to find used in good condition. My personal preference would be to return to the C5 trim, but then you get into some pot metal that usually isn't in good condition and needs rechroming. And I do agree about the 'look'. I thought I wanted the full windshield trim, with visor, for my Champ truck until I saw one done that way. It needs the door trim also to look right.
Horizontal, upper: 303526
and lower : 303527
Vertical, right : 303536
and left : 303537
Corner, both uppers: 303940
right lower : 303946
left lower: 303947

Of course, you could try to find the stainless side window trim off a 55 coupe. It's ALOT easier to cope with than the pitted pot metal of 53 & 54. Granted, it's not "correct", but I think it looks better than the earlier stuff.
