1956 studebaker president by DJ shekky, on Flickr

Photog says this was taken at Rossi Park in San Francisco. Man, I love this car.

A standard President or as some refer to them, a Vice President.
I have owned both varieties of 1957s and I much prefer the long wheelbase and better interior President Classic.

It's amazing what Studebaker did with the 53 sedan body shell both in 56 as this one is a fine example, and again in 59 with the Lark. Somewhat like Packard did to the 51 body in 55.

I'd like to see that parked against the curb in front of my house.....oh, wait I don't have a curb in front of my house. Just put it in my front yard, okay?

The owner always has a herd of old cars (mostly '57 -'60 Mopars) shuttling from one parking spot to another in that neighborhood.
A few years back, I noticed a white '53 Starliner, then this President.
He recently had a nice looking '56 Golden Hawk listed on Craigslist for $17000...must have sold.

I've been tempted to start a 'SF Street Shots' thread...so many cool old daily drivers.
