  • Magazine: 58 Packard "Lark-based".

Our friends at Sports Car Market in their review of RM Auctions July event in Rochester, Michigan call a 1958 Packard coupe "Lark-based"...not once but twice.

Since the Lark wasn't introduced until 1959, I'd call that a neat trick.
Sure, it has the same body structure as the 53-on two doors that was later adapted for the Lark, but calling it Lark-based is a bit of a stretch.

BTW: two 58 Packards were sold there:
    The 58 Coupe, S/N 58L7222, a copper & white 289 powered car in #2- condition for $27, 500 and a
    1958 Packard Hawk , S/N 58LS1537, red & white with a 2008 restoration in #2- condition at $50,600.

I enjoy the magazine, even though they sometimes seem to think most of its readers own Ferraris, Alfa 8Cs and blown Bentleys. Their main editorial policy seems to be if you buy a car without the aim of making money on it, you're doing something wrong.
