  • L.E. Belcourt Photos/information?

Does anybody have any information on L.E. Belcourt Co., at 12th and Pine, Seattle? Also, could you send me a private message if you have photos of the dealership?

Lots of license plate frames floating around from this dealer. Several puget sound SDC members have cars from there, and Lic plate frames too. I have had 3 parts cars from there.

You should look up a few long time seattle/ NPS and Whatcom members because I know they have already collected pictures and have lists of all the WA dealers they could find. Seattle SDC has a book of pictures, I have seen it.

I have no 'information' other then this~

My '65 Cruiser's PO shows she was delivered there new. When I got her in 1991, she was still sportin' BOTH of her L.E. Belcourt frames!!! I took them off the car quite awhile ago-- and she has traveled very far and wide since-- but I have kept them around.
I'll can get a pic of one for ya if you'd like...
THat's the best I can do.

If you could post a pic of the frame, that would be great.

Wouldn't you rather have individual shots instead...

Dig the TWO different ones from Morrow-Cahoon. One is from my old '58 Scotsman wagon, and the other is on the back of Dad's '57 Broadmoor. Also (maybe?) of interest- the Frank E. Rhodes decal on the decklid of my '57 Commander Custom 4door. I have NO idea if that was a Stude dealer or not.

Ralph Novaria in the Tacoma Chapter used to work there. It's possible he would have a pic or know where to find one. I won't be home for about a week or I would give you contact information now.
I the late 60s-early 70s I used to call there for Renault parts for my shop.

                    Hi Dwain,

I'm a little bit curious. On what Renault did you work? 4CV, Dauphine, R8, R16 ?

All of the above, but mostly Dauphine and R8. Thankfully there were almost no R16s in this area!
Most of our parts were bought at BAP, but we bought dealer-only items from Belcourt, I guess because they kept a good inventory.

                        .
Do you mean there were maintenance problems with this model? In France they were (and still are) considered as very good cars. The main problem was rust. As you knew the Dauphine and the R8, you surely know what I mean!

Frank E Rhodes sold both Studebakers and Ramblers at 330 Main Avenue South, in Renton WA. For a picture go to studebakerdealers.blogspot.com
