  • Wrecked '62 GT Hawk

I saw this car on e-bay with the rear quarter pictured and wondered why it was being offered as a parts car. The rear end looks good, the interior dirty but very servicable, but someone sure sideswiped the front left corner. [:0][xx(]. If it was closer, I would get it for the interior. Engine and transmission gone, it appeared to be a column shift car.

Had to be about 15 years ago - I went to a Pick-a-Part yard in Ontario California. They had a pen near the entrance with cars for sale. One was a '62 GT Hawk that was bashed in on the right front quadrant. $700 bucks woulda bought it.[:0]

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Funny, I've been to that Pic-a-part time out of hand during that same period and never saw the Hawk. And these are the Hawks I like the most. Sure wish I could get to Billings. I'd love to have this one. Looks like it would be relatively easy to repair and get back on the road. Certainly easier than one that has to be rebuilt from the ground up.
