Well,
Speedweek is over, and we were able to run our car 9 times! I ran first, with two runs, qualifying and then establishing the record for F/CGALT. As you recall, we dedicated the first run to Dale M's honor. We dedicated the week to my dear departed wife Carla. I was able to finally get my D license after the first run. It gets a little fuzzy for me after that (I'm sure the other guys can be more specific). Bob ran then, pursuing that record and then CT, who was after a D license as well. We had some teething problems with the engine which I'm certain Digger can overcome this winter. Bob went back in the car and he then qualified and successfully established the F/CFALT record on Friday morning. We pitted along side David and Rosa Livesay and it was really like one big team, especially with Phil Harris and Dave Bloomberg there and numerous other folks cheering us on. We crewed for David and Rosa at the line, and he was able to pass inspection, get thru the bail out check and establish his record Friday morning! It was a little like a chinese fire drill getting both cars prepared for record runs.
We had a great week, and are now trundling back home, courtesy of Jim McCuan's very capable tow vehicle and trailer (and expertise). Thanks to Dave Bloomberg for his guidance (and tickets to the "two club" banquet) and Phil Harris. I'm sure that Ted Harbit's Chicken Hawk tranny cover was our secret weapon... Now comes the fun part where we unload all that salty stuff!
I'm sure that we will have more pics and video for you to see.
