  • What are your Studebaker related July 4th (Independance Day) plans?

If the weather cooperates, I will have my Studebaker Hawk in the Bock 4th of July parade again (in Bock, MN, population of 103 increases to many thousands on July 4th). Last night I purchased more than 7.5 pounds of Starburst candies (not enough, but will have to do) that I will throw out along the parade route. I'd rather throw candy at kids than wave to people that I don't know.
A free car show begins at 10 or 11 am and the parade begins at 3 pm. Everyone is welcome to come and spectate or participate. There is always lots of old iron in this parade and the more, the merrier. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

    Some memories from previous parades:

May have to drive the Red, white and blue. If it's not too hot.

Installing the Don Simmons (Silvertone Exhaust) Stainless 2 1/4" exhaust system and 2 1/2" corvette ram horns on the 83 Avanti.

I'm impressed with the quality and pipe thickness of the system. So good that UPS could not bend it up during shipping.

Planning to do a car show with my 62 GT the fourth but right now the weather forecast does not look too favorable.

I'll be helping my dad but new seat covers in the 69 nova SS he's restoring. BUT...The stude gets some attention later in the week when the shifter and tranny cooler I ordered show up.

I'll be wishing I had my car. I took it to the radiator shop 2 weeks ago and they haven't finished it yet.

Two weeks Clark?? That's a long time to be in a radiator shop. Did they have to go up into the mountains and mine some copper and lead ore before they could repair it? You may have to take your business elsewhere. Good luck, I hope you get it back soon.

I'm driving her all weekend - but it may be my first and last Fourth with her. So its a bittersweet fourth!
