    [u]Here is rule #1:</u>

PLEASE watch eBay for a while for comparables to determine a REALISTIC VALUE for your car! This seems obvious- yet there's always one or two listings for $2-300 cars with an opening bid of $2500 and a reserve of $5000 (or some such nonsense[xx(]).
Interestingly, I was just looking at eBay, and found a perfect example of what I was saying:

Great waste of an eBay fee...[|)]

Yep...His BIN is only high by a factor of about 10. In addition, he's $500 away from civilization in Alaska [:0]. Think how small his market for this car.

There are so many stories floating around about how you can get super high prices on eBay (some of them actually true), that listings like this are common. I bumped into a guy last week that swore up and down that ANY used pair of Levis would bring $100,000 to $1,000,000 on eBay. I couldn't convince him otherwise.

My family bought a new '58 Plymouth (Suburban) wagon (essentially the same car as this DeSoto). The first day we owned it, my Dad pulled out the ashtray to use it and in bent in half. Said a lot about the quality of that car .

You might not get arrested if you have Studebaker undies.
