"Made In America" Cable TV Show - Gatorade

Interesting segment on TV on 'The Travel Channel'..
"Made In America" with host John Ratzenberger has a segment about Gatorade...
    http://travel.discovery.com/fansites/jrmia/jrmia.html
They did a token report about the technical aspects of Gatorade, but made only a fleeting reference to it's origins...
Some additional Gatorade history can be found at:
    http://www.gatorade.com/history/
    and
    http://www.amanet.org/books/catalog/...0_Timeline.htm

With a great video interview with Dr. Cade at:
    (part 1) http://www.turnersouth.com/video/player/0,,112,00.html

    (part 2) http://www.turnersouth.com/video/player/0,,113,00.html

    (part 3) http://www.turnersouth.com/video/player/0,,111,00.html

    (And for you skeptic's: http://www.gatorade.com/history/ )

What's that got to do with Studebakers'?
    Plenty.
Dr. Cade is one of the most dedicated Studebaker lover's around, and has collected through the years one of the finest all Studebaker collections in the world.
This private collection is of cult status in the Studebaker world.
It's good to see Dr. Cade get a mention as one of the creators of an American icon.

As a side note: Dr. Cade was presented with a Lifetime Achievement award at the recent SDC SE Zone Meet.

Just thought this was worth a mention... Kudos' to Dr. Cade!

You put it so well, and truthfully, Jeff. I saw that episode a while back. Also, I've been seeing an old commercial with Doc Cade in it. It shows the Gators in the 60's, and they're swaeting their ears off. Then, an announcer comes on and says something about a drink that the University Of FL has come up with. Then Doc Cade is shown sitting behind a desk and says, "Well, naturally, we call it Gator-ADE!" It was good to see Doc on TV. Hope his museum will be one to 'compete' with the SNM. [8D]

Gatorade has a taste of its own. And no, it's not really all that great. It sure tastes good on a hot day, though. [8D]

Here's some pics of Doc Cade's world class collection. I think there are about 60 or so restored cars. (And I mean PERFECTLY restored). The oldest car is a 1911 Flanders runabout (yep, I've rode in that one, as well as their 1913 runabout) The newest is a 1990 Avanti. With about everything in between.

after seeing all those pix, I'd like to know what percentage of remaining Studes are in that guy's yard... that's why I don't have a Stude yet, he's got them all!
