As the book is titled. The seller did an excellent job writing the ad IMHO, but just think what it could look like if he had hired JP or Dick to take the pictures and do the whole listing!
Anyway, this is one fine motor car, I wish I could afford it,let me see,I haven't used my line of credit in ages....

Green car, red interior. Seems like an odd choice. Has anyone seen this comination on an authentic Stude? I have a car like this one (except for several thousand $ restoration!). I talked to Rene' at Phantom Auto about interior vinyl colors since the original grey nylon is not available. He said all the green cars he is aware of with vinyl interiors were a tan color.

I emailed the person posting this auction. He does not have the production order but did find the paint code on the glove box and says the interior looks original to him. I know that with Stude you could order about anything so I am sure it is possible.

That is more than a possible combination, it was quite common. I have owned several '53 C/Ks. One that I rebuilt and showed for nine years was/is Tahoe Green with that same red vinyl interior. I was the second owner of that car and knew it since it was new in '53. I did field a lot of questions about putting a red interior in a green car. I told people that it was original, but I think most didn't believe me. Remember that in '53 (especially early) there were only two color choices of vinyl or leather interiors for C/Ks. The Flax (cream) interior came with the Spring Special (but then the car was Bombay Red). I am surprized at Rene's comment since he is very knowledgeable about interiors. I guess that he doesn't remember my '53 Commander Starliner. I have seen many '53s with Scarlet Red interiors in both vinyl and leather, but have seen very few Golden Tan interiors in either vinyl or leather.

I know of a beautifil TriStar 53 Commander Starliner. The car was/is baby blue with a cream top. Originally it came with red interior. Kinda weird lookin'. The guy that worked for the owner that restored it told me that when he ordered the Phantom Interior he went ahead and ordered Tan leather for the car, and didn't even mention in to the owner. But, he as too many cars to keep up with as it is. I guess you could have gotten about any combo back then...
