  • Studebaker boat?

i know Loewy designed some Dorsett boats...
but did STUDEBAKER ever make any aluminum boats?
there's a small aluminum boat for sale in my area that is said to be made by studebaker... weird.

    amazingly, google turns up nothing

Not that I am aware of. An aluminum structure or skin seems too far afield from what Studebaker was doing. Studebaker engines were used in boats. Maybe someone else will prove my recollection to be incorrect.

apparently, upon more searching, i've found out that Studebaker boats were built by a guy named Studebaker, no connection to the car company other than sharing the family name.
built in Topeka KS as one of the first welded aluminum boats ever made.

      again... weird

I guess the Weasel doesn't count, since it was not aluminum.
