  • 53 Champion back on the road

The folks I purchased this car from, Ford of Champaign, (they had it on ebay) had a 12 volt battery in the car. That is what fried the generator. With the correct 6 volt battery back in the car along with the new generator, the car is charging the way it should. As for the shifting problem, I found some washers the perfect size for the linkage. They tightened up the slop and now she shifts like buttah! Anyone in the market?

Chris - You and Andrea are the only Coops in the 2004 SDC Roster. Of course there are new members since then and not everyone on this forum is a member of SDC.

No, this isn't Chris Cooper, this is Darren Cooper. It is a 53 Champion sedan 3 on the tree with OD. Good body and interior with new tires, new generator and new battery. She runs and drives very well. $3500.00 (In it's pre corrected form) I think the eBay bids on this car were just shy of 3,000.00 reserve not met. That was around four or five months ago. Darren
