  • Bought a cheap Avanti

I usually avoid doing so, but this was too cheap:

Hey John, that's not far from me!

If you need a safe place to keep it till you come for it, I'd be willing to get it and store it for free... let me know if I can help!

There is no such thing as a cheap Avanti if you intend to show restore a rough car. This car will bring 5K or more as a driver, maybe 8K in little parts.i I already have a 3K offer on the body, but I want to see if it can be saved.

I dont know what it looks like underneath ... but I would agree with
selling it to someone who wants to get it back on the road. It looks
WAY too good to part out!! These cars are really to rare to part out
all the time .... didnt you buy a cheap Avanti years ago and part it??

I seem to remember the name .. I was thinking 'Deja Vu' here.

I have a Ford buddy who has expressed an interest. He is the one who
gave me the GT Mustang brakes for my Cobra adapter brackets. That car
looks like a great starting point for a custom Avanti project. Keeps
the car on the road - where it should be. Unfortunately the shipping
                to California would be expensive.[V]

I have parted out a dozen or so, always made more money doing it that way. i.e., still selling some small parts from cars parted 20 years ago.
