  • Quarter panel question for a '63

Where the quarter panels all bolted on on a '63 daytona? Or where they brazed at the very top as well? From the trunk opening forward.

    Thanks Sean

Should be all bolts, anything else holding it together is just old, hard seam sealer unless someone has done some non-factory bodywork to the car.

Only postwar Stude (steel) cars that had FIXED rear quarters were station wagons and the 56-7-8 sedans.

Say, did you ever get those rocker panel photos???

Aren't there bolts going in from behind the rear quarter glass at the top ?

Geez! Brain fade! I changed my reply above. I said "unboltable" when what I really meant to say was "Fixed" - as in quarters that can't just be un-bolted from the car.

Hey - it was early in the day for me.[xx(]

They are strictly bolt-on with dumm-dumm sealer originally. Modern supply shops know dumm-dumm as ribbon caulk.

And, I've been told, if they bolt on they are rear fenders. They are quarter panels only if welded.

Engines are combustion, motors are electric, etc., etc., etc.

              I'll bet this can start a discussion.[}]

Ah, I thought they were just bolted on. There was some brass on the top and it didn't look factory. I did get the photos of the rockers. Thank you much. We actually just installed the right one. I'll try and post a pic of this car soon for y'all to see.
