  • Oil Pan color

Can anyone tell me what color the oil pan should be on my 51 Champion.[?]
I have bought and painted the engine with the genuine Studebaker olive green paint. Do I carry that color down to the pan or is it black or grey? Thanks.

Yeah, as 2R5 says - block color. And contrary to the gleamingly perfect paint applied to today's resto's, The factory painters were WAY less than precise about how they applied the paint. It's not uncommon to see block color overspray on valve covers and other appendages (Talking an UN-restored engine and trans here)
You wouldn't find beautifully polished brass fittings and shiny stainless steel bolts and nuts highlighting a factory motor. Slop on the paint and send it to the assembly line[}]
