  • Bolt eating floor

Today I got around to mounting the water pump manifold. Just as I held the manifold up to the block and was about to incert the first bolt the bolt was snatched out of my hand and went to the floor. I had the gaskets on and could not stop until I had a couple of bolts in to hold the manifold in place. When that was done I started looking for the bolt. Moved every thing in the garage. Used a magnetic pick up tool, but never found the bolt. [}][xx(]
Once the car is on the road I know the floor will give it back. I had all the bolts painted.

As luck has it, I was fitting a water pump last year and lost a bolt much like you describe. Unfortunately, my missing bolt fell into the pump.

Well, I don't know if I should tell this but this morning as I was putting my jacket on I dicovered a bolt in the pocket. I suspect the gremlins came in last night and put it there. Must not liked the color.
Then, again I may have put it in my pocket when I was in a senior mind set. Maybe I shouldn't tell that part.[:I]
Didn't find any shims or hammers. Sorry.

Them gremlins just messing with ya head John. And Mark if yall dont mind me swiping the thread,I got a story about the dog from h*ll.A friend of mine gave my son a choc lab 8 month old 'puppy'.My son is mentally and physically handicapped and he loves big dogs. Now this puppy was about 50 to 60 lbs of pure mischievious loving puppy that had a amorous afection for anything in my shop cresent wrenches hammers chock blocks, anything that was either impossible for him to actually have.
he even chewed into a can of carb cleaner. These wre no item left laying about either. i went into shop once and he had jumped up on the counter and was trying to pull my 6 inch vise loose from the table.Well ,to this day i am missing a 8 lb sledge hammer , i know he got it he prob chewed up the handle , but the head is something else.I think it could have been a gremlin dog.

Count your blessings fellas! It could be worse. You could be up here on Hell hill like me. No garage, no shop, not even a carport. Just out there in the dirt, gravel, and ants. I've got some major ant infestation going on this spring...[:0][B)] We're talkin' big-uns too![:0][8]
