Anybody know where I should look for the VIN on my 1946 Studebaker truck?

It SHOULD be on the driver's door jamb, at the top. Just where the roof curves back from the windshield. It'll say SERIAL No., not "VIN" or "Vehicle Identification Number".

Some later trucks had the plate below the left end of the lower seat cushion. The '46 M-16 I had had the plate on the door jamb.

BTW, vehicles of this vintage often were registered by their Engine Serial Number. This number is STAMPED (not embossed, or "raised") on the front, upper left corner of the engine block - right where the block meets the head.

    Miscreant at large.

    1957 Transtar 1/2ton
    1960 Larkvertible V8
    1958 Provincial wagon
    1953 Commander coupe
    1957 President 2-dr
    1955 President State
    1951 Champion Biz cpe
    1963 Daytona project FS
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

I've got a 1946 M15A and that's exactly where it is. Later trucks had it on the driver's side seat riser.
