  • This Lark is a steal

This looks like a neat solid 2 door sedan:

If I was closer I'd be all over this one.

Boy, that IS SHARP! I love that color and the interior re-do is tastefully executed.
That little 6 might be just right with this lightest of bodies and 3spd O/D. <sigh> I love 'em all[V]

One minor exterior trim detail is in error. Does anyone see it?

The little winged bird should be in the middle of the grille

You got it! The Hawk badge was used on the grille and the Hawk emblem horn button was used too. Black with chrome highlights. The horn button is 64 vintage on this car.

Jeez, I missed the horn button. That looks like the one on my 65.

The emblem was in the middle for '60 but I think the 59's are to the side like this one. Correct me if I'm wrong[:I]

              Yes, middle oriented (for 60).

I've found it amusing that they used the Hawk emblems for the first year Larks. Maybe the name was chosen too late in the program to develop a Logo of it's own.
I've seen the company produced movie that was a teaser to be shown to dealers and they refer to the thing as the "X-car".[}]

The '59 Larks used a Hawk emblem on the grille and it was offset to the left (drivers side). The '60s had a Lark emblem and it was centered on the grille.

The car looks like a cousin of my '50 Lark Regal Hardtop. Same color.
It looks like a beauty. Too bad I don't have room for it. Too many cars.
Someone will get a real bargain on this one.

Aren't the Turn Signal/Air intake grills also incorrect? I am not sure about the '59 but the '60 model has vertical and horizontal bars, these look like they are from a Champ truck.

[] So far, no one has mentioned the 1960-style installation of Lark VI on the front fenders, either<G>.

No, those parking lite fixtures ARE correcto for '59. [8D]
You're right, of course, Bob. Sharp eye.

I've never compared them, but I wonder if the holes for that "Studebaker" script are located the same as for the "Lark VI" (VIII) script. I know that of the 56-7-8 cars, the pins on the back of the nameplates (Commander, Champion & President) are placed so that any nameplate can be fitted to a given fender.

I'll have to go dig into my box of scripts and see if Lark VI and Studebaker will inter-fit the same prong holes.
