    Vacuum diagrams? HAHAHAHA

    sorry...

you must be used to working on those newfangled cars. There's a line from the carb to the vacuum advance on the distributor, unless you have suspended pedals and power brakes - then there's a fitting off the rear of the manifold that goes to the booster as well. If your car has a vacuum gauge that gets tied in there somewhere. that's it!

As for wiring diagrams, start here:

    good luck

BTW N8N, what is the other vacuum next to the choke on the right side of the intake? what is it supposed to feed to?

You mean the hard line from the choke housing? It just goes to the little loop of pipe in the manifold for the choke heat. Theoretically there's supposed to be a hose from the other end of that metal loop to the inside of the air cleaner, but I've never seen a 2bbl with a provision for it.

The older 2bbl's had a rubber vacuum hose from the top of the carb. to one of those pipes, the other pipe had a steel tube that ran heated air into the choke housing. I believe 1963-on did not have anything connected to the fresh air pipe, nor is there a pipe in the carb top for a rubber hose to connect to.

              Dwain,

my '62 did not have one either, and it did stil have the original carb and air cleaner on it when I got it. Now that's the earliest engine with a 2bbl that I have worked on, so maybe the earlier ones did have that hose. It sure looks like it *should* be there, as the engine is drawing (a small amount of) unfiltered air through that choke heat loop.

Nate - Don't forget the vacuum line to the windshield wiper motor on earlier models <G>.
