    I have had some car shipping done around the country. If you have a nice car, a closed trailer prevents a lot of vandalism and theft. If you don't want to go with that expense, specifying top load costs only a slight premium and your car is farther from where people can get to it to damage it or steal things and the car won't have other cars above it dripping fluids on it. My last shipment in was from Georgia to NYS. The car went in an enclosed car hauler trailer, behind a sleeper cab, with a Ferrari in Georgia and got out at my driveway. I had one surprise on a shipment from CT to NYS. They didn't have room on a trailer available, so they paid a flunky to drive it over.

        Question.
        I've ordered the build sheet from the museum. In the meantime I am assuming the color combination on this is correct as Chippawa and Lombard greens. Yes/No/Maybe?

          Quite likely, that's correct!

          Miscreant at large.

            I think that you are incorrect on the colors. Unless I have lost track of the threads here, you are referring to a 1954. Chippawa and Lombard are 1953 greens. Similar colors for 1954 would be Azore Green and Lance Green.

                  First couple of serious questions;
                  a) What is the cloth covered rubber trim used to finish off the interior panels at/around the door openings? Where can you get it?
                  b) Front main oil seal. Leaky, leaky, leaky. Is there a previous discussion about replacing this seal in Tech talk or?
                  c) Everything else was as expected and the shipper didn't put a mark on it. Even a box of loose little parts was still in the trunk, etc.
                  Lucky, Lucky, Lucky.
                  Now the fun begins ! []

                    Hey Dave,

                    You gonna be around Saturday?
                    I'll come by in my wagon in the afternoon to welcome your new toy.

                    Let me know.

                    Mike
