HAWK 289 4BBL

Are the lifters on a 1962, 289 4bbl Hawk solids? I have a ticking in the top end that sounds like it is the tappets but not all of them. I need to figure out how to deal with it.

All Studebaker engines are solids John. When they're set correctly you should not hear them. Unfortunately, there's many, many different shade-tree shortcuts used to setting them, I suggest that you set them by the book, (hot).
