I just boguht some floor pans off EvilBay, $230 total for the pair. They get to go into storage while I do other things first, like reseal the car and replace the broken glass (ugh). Thank God I don't have to replace that back glass. I shudder to think of what that'd cost.

One question, and not to do with the car specifically. I signed up for the SDC back when I boguht the car, but I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. Is there a way to check and see if it went through? Thanks.

Guard: Where are you going in such a hurry?
Gorrak the ranger: Uhhh...Gorrak have quiche in oven!!
        Guard: well hurry along.

EVILBAY[?][?][?][}] Oh my (LOL)! Is there a story behind that loving little pet-name[?]

Yours is one of my favourites. The '56s are second to the '53s, but '56 is what I ended up with. Not a bad settlement, for me. You've got not only a great car, though. Your lady seems to be a real gem too. I mean, really. How many guys would give a heck of a lot to have a girl who not only understands a guy thing like his car, but buys him the manuals???? Wow![:0]

Yeah, I'm incredibly blessed on that part. She didn't bat an eyelash when I talked about bringing the old girl home. Then she popped up and tried to suprise me with the shop manual. It failed, I just checked my Amazon wishlist and found out :P. She's not good with suprising me. She's not overly fond of me talking about trying to trade down the Cobalt to get out from under the debt though, she likes that car, as do I. But I like RWD, and a manual transmission as well.

My little nickname for EBay comes from aggravation at some sellers. Mostly over no feedback, actually, than any real bad experiences. Most sellers now won't leave feedback period, even if everything goes good, and many others reserve it as a retaliation if you leave bad feedback. Thankfully, I've had no bad experiences yet.

I like the '53's best as well. But I liked it best because it's unique. Don't get me wrong, I loved my Dart Sport, but you can see a dozen a week around here. Mustangs can be seen daily. Studebakers are a once a year sight, if your lucky. I've seen 5 exactly in my life. A Champ pickup I wish I could've bought ($300, and it was a solid running V8 truck), my car, my neighbor's '49 Pickup, a '56, and a '51. Of those, the '56 looked restored, but was in a yard, and the '51 was the only one I saw moving of it's own accord. The Champ ran like, well a champ, but I had no way of getting it home. At the time, I had the money, but no driver's liscense. If I had, then I'd have two Studes right now, but one would be pulling daily duty. And I'd probably have more money to put into my Champion, since I wouldn't be wasting money on the Cobalt's note every month.

Don't be sad about getting that '56. I'd love to get a wagon model later on someday, maybe make an Ecto-mobile out of it. When I have a large Garage capable of parking about 6 cars or so. :P

When she's done, my Champ won't be a garage queen, nor will she be a trailer queen. I plan on running her as much as I can, even in the rain. If I wasn't, I could get things done faster by far.
