  • After dinner mint 3/27

This picture was taken at the Ozark Trails Orphan Car Show in Branson 2008.

When this car was shown at Lancaster later that month it had a damaged rear fender.

Why did you have to go and do that for Gary? Makes me realize my 66 Daytona project is not moving along fast enough

I remember that car from Lancaster.

I also remember looking at a brand new one in 1965.
I would have been 9 years old.
I remember wondering why Studebaker sent out an orange car
with a white top and black interior. They must have made
several though, as back in the late seventies or maybe the eighties
there was one at a Zone Meet in Des Moines.

I really like it though and remember how luxurious the interior
          was.

The car has since been repainted in stock Studebaker color similar to Coral. It belongs to SDC & ASC member Vern Kaldahl (sp?) if I remember correctly.

That car belongs to a fellow Central Nebraska Chapter member by the name of Vernon Kaldahl. Sad story is they were hit by someone on their way to Lancaster in 2008. The car has since been repaired.

I looked at that car extensively at Lancaster, and thought 'what a crying shame!' As if there aren't enough 'not irreplacable' vehicles cluttering up the highways that couldn't been have hit instead. I am really happy to see it back repaired and looking like it should once again. Thanks for that real good Springtime "hearts-up" photo.

Don,I remember talking with Vern, the owner, at Lancaster after they pulled in with the left side caved in. Vern wasn't happy, but Vern being Vern, said something to effect of "Hey I allready have a lead on the parts to fix it."
