Although the two Hawks appear to need a little work, they are both beautiful cars. I like that shade of blue on the '63 and the Packard Hawk is extremely flashy, very attention getting for sure. I really like the interior colors of the Avanti, very sharp. Those wheels on the Avanti need some polishing as they look very bland as they are. Shine them, clearcoat them, and they might look awesome. Great pictures!

I love the Blue Mist on the '63 Hawk too. That Avanti is gorgeous and is the next-to-last production Studebaker Avanti. The Packard Hawk is so very nice but that emblem ahead of the front wheels that looks like a '63 Avanti "Supercharged" would have to come off for my tastes! (Certainly not a deal breaker!!!)

Someone who knows, please answer me: Is that an Avanti tach in that blue GT? The numerals look different that on the tach in my Lark.

        Thanks!

Bill, that is not an original Stewart Warner '63 GT tacho in that Hawk & I dont think it is from an Avanti also.

Appears to be an Avanti R1/R2 tach.

That's by far a record for a post war Studebaker.

Mike Jones, do you have any idea who the buyer of R5642 is? I have some items from that car that the new owner may be interested in, or maybe not. RM might provide the information. I can try that approach when I have time.

Bill, RM Auctions will not divulge their buyers for any reason. All we can hope is that the car will reappear somewhere soon.

I do have a suggestion. Contact RM Auctions, explaining you have things from your days of ownership of the car and ask if they will contact the new owner for you. They may be open to that approach. I'd also suggest you include a list of the items that are in your posession for the car.

Don, just to clarify, I never did own R5642 but had it in my possession for a year to rebuild the drivetrain and do extensive detailing and repair of the engine compartment and other areas needing correction - many hours of work. I think I made about $2/hr for my time, but it was an interesting job to "refresh" a rare Avanti.

Bill, I have reached out to some folks within RM that I know to see if I can pry the name of the new owner out of the. If successful I'll let you know

If nothing else, maybe they'll pass on a Turning Wheels (and Avanti) and club membership forms.
