  • What is so special about this 56 sedan

Nice car, but it sure has been bid higher than any other I have seen http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/56-St...QQcmdZViewItem

Beats me. It's not even perfect. The interior shots will expose this. I guess it's just the thrill of the auction and stubborness of bidders.

For a seller that wanted to get a least $3,500.00. (per his response)He should be EXTREMELY happy. I agree don't see anywhere near that nice of car.

WHAO!!! It's got two days left and it's at $10,001.00!!! And a FOUR DOOR that needs interior at that. Something tells me that this is too good to be true. If this car is worth that, then my Dad's '56 Champ two door is worth $25k. [)]

Just a wild guess, but I bet this one will be relisted, with the winner a deadbeat.

Bid jumped from $2500 to $10000 and nothing in between, with a reserve of $3500.

There are at least 2 bidders EXTREMELY interested in this car (or maybe deadbeats and/or shills). Bidder 8 entered a proxy bid of $10,000. His bid would only show the reserve amount at that point. An hour later, bidder #7 (theoretically not knowing what bidder #7's max bid was), bid something over $10,000 (could be $20,000 for all we know).

                    This one always kills me...

"I reserve the right to cancel all bids and end the auction early should the vehicle no longer be available for sale.

How many sellers would be happy about their bidders stating...

"I reserve the right to not pay for this car if I win it should I change my mind about it".

IMHO, if you put an item for sale on eBay, you should let the auction run its course. You can try to sell it locally either before or after eBay if you want to, but not during.

Something is amiss for sure. The 10K proxy that was just outbid makes no sense.

The extra value in this car would be the 'optional' bent hood corners and that rust on the cowl under the windshield...
