I sent the guy a nicely worded message through ebay about some of the things that I questioned about the ad. The one thing that I thought really need clarification (and said so) was that his was one of 2,003 2-door deluxe Lark VIII's, but that the way he has his ad worded it makes it look like Studebaker only produced 2,003 cars for the entire model year, which we all know is not true.

My fear is that someone with stars in their eyes is going to misread that low number, and when combined with the word RARE, could lead to a misunderstanding that is great for the seller and a let down for a buyer. I don't think that he means to mislead anyone. Sometimes the things we write make perfect sense to us until we up load them and someone else reads them.

I am curious to see what plant that car came through, however. It would interesting to see if it were a South Bend or Hamilton car.

Yeah, there's no return. Real Stude people can spot the errors easily; those who aren't wouldn't care anyway.

I don't think I'd bother. If the guy didn't want to do his research before, I doubt he would be very interested in input on his add. That is a very nice car though! I sure wish my paint was that nice, same color too! Someday.......

haven't I seen that car on eBay before? It does look nice, but a little out of my price range, and I think I'd probably want to check it out in person given the ad.

Why bother. It's a lose, lose with people that ignorant. Most of it is not that important anyway, just poor history. Nice car though.

Long time since I have seen this much mis-information in an ad. It might even be a decent car.
