  • taking the green 53 to car show on sat.

The 53 green hardtop is up and running and runs well with it's 61 289 V-8 engine and 3 speed, there is a small car show in northern California this Sat. and we figured to go to it and take the 53 and see what responses we get, working on a new title with the post vin. number since the engine is long gone number on title does not match the car now, hope to get it sold soon after we get the title..Bob

Bob, be sure to park it inside a giant redwood tree and take a picture of it to share with me. Thanks

LOL. I need your services, Jerry, but you don't do house calls in Canada. I was waiting for someone to mention the lack of chrome, but Bob usually knows what he's doing. Can't wait to hear the public reaction. Good luck, Bob.

Very nice Bob. I'll bet it's going to be a hit at the show.

Picture can make a car look better than it really is, the same with this one, but with the price we have on it they both fit each other, a car you can get in and drive and enjoy, I have one person interested in it and have been talking and he has first crack at it unless some one is at the show with cash but we don't figure that will happen but we will take names of lookers with interest, I still need to get back to forum member with more details on it as I have been super busy, more to come later ,...Bob

These cars have such beautiful lines they don't need chrome to look great. I love the looks of the 53-54 Starliners!

Jeff, tomorrow in Cottonwood , Ca. at Lake California, I don't know how large or much about it but a member up there is trying to get a chapter started and has some Studebakers there of people that would like a chapter, since I am president of the bay area chapter the Sequoia he asked me if I could make it ,so Pat and myself are driving up early tomorrow with the 53 on the trailer and will unload and drive to the lake...Bob

Actually Mark, although I love my bullet nose for the unique styling, my favourite Stude is the 54 Starliner hardtop. On second thought, I think it's a tie with the 37 Coupe Express!

                        Nice looking car, Bob!

Long trip today left at 6:00am and got back a 9:00PM, weather was nice, area was nice, people were nice , cars were nice, the 53 did ok for its first trip on the road since 1990 give or take a few months, for a daily driver it went over real well, some even wished the had the money to own it, next week it goes to Good Guys for the week end might find a buyer the of course the price is higher to those people, going to tinker with it some more this week, a few of the pictures of the show very small at our standards, but nice cars...
