  • interesting ebay transaction

I bought a rebuilt Paxton on ebay with a snipe bid. When I asked about shipping cost, he said he might have sold in his store and could not complete the deal. Odd, since he relisted the same blower with a BIN for $300 over my winning bid just after I won.

Would it do any good to file a complaint with Ebay? Perhaps they can at least pressure this seller into keeping up his end of the bargain.

Sounds like you're not the first, John: the seller's positive feedback rating (90.5%) is the lowest I've seen in quite a while.

Well, with a 90.5% positive feedback rating, what did you expect? Obviously he has no idea what the word 'ethics' means.

I will, but they can't force him to ship it. If he does not, I'll just give him a negative and move on.

He's on the southwest side of Cleveland. What's his store? I'll drive over there and give him the stink eye. Not cool. That will be interesting to see if eBay does anything.

That's not cool, he should have to sell it to you for the winning bid.

I would submit it to the eBay resolution center with a copy of his message to you and links to his subsequent listings.
Not sure what it would accomplish but I certainly wouldn't stop at negative feedback. If folks don't take action no action will be taken!

Am I missing something here? What is "interesting" about this?
It happens all the time, but with a 'twist' of sorts. Case in point-

An item gets listed, bid on, and sold on Ebay.
Said item is paid for and shipped to winning bidder.
Bidder receives item, but sends it back.
The item is 'not as advertised' so says the buyer.
That same week- another item like the first pops up.
Buyer bids and wins this second one,
but for less $$$ this second time around.

His feedback is not nearly as good as it once was-
just as the seller's in your case was bad to begin with.
                      Mine is still good though!!!

Beware those Packard parts dealers, BTW. [)]

Don't even get me started on certain 'auctions'
involving R-powered Cruisers that end early....

The BIN is now $899.99 and he has declined 3 offers.

Columbia Station? Please, it's like going to Wisconsin, as Bill Murray would say!
It's west of suburban Strongsville in the country. Probably a garage. Not East Cleveland, my friend.
Clark, I have had to chase down serious criminals for comment with nothing more than a notepad and a video camera for almost 30 years. Stupid and lucky, yes. If this guy is worse than the child molesters and muderers who got out of prison too early, I'd be shocked. He's messin' with the SDC now.
I always find it interesting when sneaky folks get away with this baloney, though.

I like this plan of action. Once it goes to the resolution center, they will deal with it.

I personally hate when they list it on eBay and then say "but its for sale locally..." My feeling is if you list it on eBay, then its listed on eBay. Want to sell it locally, fine. But pick one or the other.
