Hey guys. Thanks for posting the pics Steve. Here's a little story about the truck. My dad bought it 30 years ago and it was a pile(from what I hear, I'm only 19). In 1973 when he was in college he started designing a turbocharged studebaker engine. Most everything on this truck is factory. The rear end is the stock Dana 60 with modified dually hubs, he put a T-98 in it with a 3spd Brownie behind it. The front end he converted to disc brakes using Ford F350 hubs. I can't seem to find my pictures of the engine but I'll post them when I get them. The engine is a 289 bored .030" over, AL intake, Afb, and a Rajay turbocharger. This engine is currently in the '58 4x4. Just to prove how well the Studebaker engine is; My brother used the '58 for pulling a gooseneck trailer. We had put a water injection kit on and a few other mods. Now we had to test this fancy turbocharged engine. We towed a 3500lb trailer with a 2500lb tractor and 7000lbs of gravel on it. WITH A BLOWN STUDEBAKER 289, 3/4 TON . These weights are accurate No Bull.
