    I have some pics if anyone know approx. what it's worth.
    Until recent it was in a barn since march of 1955. Has normal aging but runs. 73,000 mile. Top is in good shape, no tears or dryrot. All in all its solid. These are just some pics I took when I got it home and i know there not the greatest but I would like to get some idea. I'm more into hot rods and I dont want to cut this one up so I will be selling soon. Thanks 4 the help.

    The car has been repainted, so from a picture one can not tell what is underneath.
    Hopefully the rear window frame is included. That could make a big difference.
    You do not describe or picture the interior.
    I do not follow these, but based on what I see, I would guesstimate $7000-$10,000.
    In case you do not know, the car is a South Bend built 1948 Champion.

      The serial number does indicate it to be a '48 Champion.
      FYI:
      The stainless grille, hood ornament, and [u]front</u> bumper guards are from a '47.
      There appears to be a second hood ornament as well. Not original.
      The three diamonds on the front fender vent door are from a Commander. The three diamonds on the gas filler door were not original to any model.
      It appears the convetible top [u]had</u> a plastic rear window. 47-50 used a two-piece glass window framed in a die-cast metal frame. Plastic rear windows started in '51, I think. Same basic bodyshell.
      The spot in the paint between the left rear taillight and the trunk lid--if the metal has been patched--it could be where a factory (accessory) freestanding back-up light was installed.

      This is just information for you. I am not knocking your car in any way. Quite the contrary. It is a GREAT find. You will find several willing buyers, I'm sure.
      I'm going to say Gary's price might be close, or just a tad high. FWIW

        Yes, the 1947 nose with a 1948 serial number confused me also. I went with the S/N for the year. I figure that part of the nose as been changed. Just because it has a 1955 sticker does not mean that it has not been used since then.

          Yea, I was painted over, firewall and door jams are emerald green and paint tag with the numbers say emerald green. I didnt take pics of the interior yet, but its all complete just aged. The rear window its there and complete, its unzipped and folded down. And yes, I dont know whats with the silly second hood ornament. That and the yellow paint, it was probably driven by a teenager in its day. But thanks for the input. I'm not familiar with Studebakers any advise is good. Thanks again

            The hood emblem (on the front of the hood not the ornament on top of the hood) isn't a 47 emblem. The 1947 Champion hood emblem didn't have the 'wings' not that it matters much just an FYI.

              Is the rear window the correct metal framed glass or is it some plastic replacement? The correct frames are hard/expensive to come by.

                By serial number, the car is a 1948. Much of the front is made up of 1947 components.
