    Can anyone tell me what the numbers from a Champ truck means? Thanks, David

                E could not be a 62-63 truck, unless it's a engine number.

                    Its a 1/2 ton Champ from the pictures. He just didn't know which year. How can you tell for sure ?

                        Some of the guys have literature which decodes these letters/numbers into the model/engine and often options and color too.

                            Model should either be 8E5-112 or -122 if its a 63-64 with hanging pedals or 7E5-112 or -122 if its a '62.
                            All E series trucks, 1955-64 including 1960-64 Champs have a serial number starting with E

                            In this case, its an E5 130798, a Champ with a 170 OHV six.
                            For example my Champ, is an 8E12-122, a LWB V8 powered 3/4 ton,its serial number is E12 6505.
